Valentin Kassarnig, a student at the University of Massachusetts in the United States, has created a machine that produces grammatically correct, properly arranged political speeches according to the speaker’s political party. First, he built a database of around 4,000 speeches given at fifty or so U.S. Congressional debates in 2005. An algorithm uses the speeches in this database to generate texts according to the speaker’s political party and opinion of the bill being discussed.
