2017 December

Dear Students,

My colleagues on the Board of Directors of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) join me in wishing you all the best during the holiday season. Our lives are very full and this period of the year affords us an opportunity to spend some precious time with our nearest and dearest.

The year now ending was marked by positive changes in your future profession. I also have the firm conviction that the actions that the OIQ is currently carrying out as part of the ENG2020 Plan are helping to bolster public trust in engineers.

Several activities will give me a chance to talk to many of you next year and I am really looking forward to meeting you.

Until then, I hope you have some very happy holidays with your loved-ones.

Also, read the article entitled “Véhicules autonomes : du rêve à la réalité ” to learn what Denis Gingras, Eng., a professor at the Université de Sherbrooke, says are the technological challenges involved in the large-scale deployment of self-driving vehicles.
Managing your personal finances can be a big job. But like lots of un-sexy things in life – folding clean laundry, cleaning the oven, eating broccoli – it’s pretty essential to get a handle on it. So, read these tips that don’t use a single expression like “indexed rate” or “return on equity,” promise!
