Dear Students,

Your future professional order actively participates in National Engineering Month, a nationwide initiative to promote the profession to young people and to highlight excellence in engineering. Here is an overview of the activities on the program.

Soirées reconnaissance
For the second consecutive year, the OIQ is holding recognition events known as Soirées reconnaissance in eight regions of Québec. The final one will take place on March 22, 2018. These events are designed to:
encourage the next generation of engineers by presenting 60 scholarships from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Foundation to college and university-level students;
welcome the nearly 2,000 new full-fledged engineers;
highlight excellence by awarding regional recognitions to companies that have delivered innovative engineering projects.

Other activities in the field
The OIQ and its regional committees participate in numerous activities that promote the profession to young people throughout the year. We take advantage of Engineering Month to draw your attention to these activities that will take place in March across Québec : Science Fairs, Les filles et les sciences, the Défi génie inventif, the FIRST Robotics Québec competition, the Aboriginal Science Fair, and many visits with secondary school students.

You too can promote the profession to young people. Do you like studying engineering? Mention it to people you know who are considering their career options.

Happy National Engineering Month!
