Dear Students,
Did you know that the ranks of the engineering profession are being successfully replenished? In fact, 1,943 junior engineers became full-fledged engineers at the end of their junior engineer period in 2016-2017. These professionals may now practice engineering fully independently. Many of them participated in the Soirées reconnaissance events held by the OIQ in the spring across Québec to celebrate this important milestone on their professional path.
To support you as you take the first step on this path–the transition from student status to junior engineer status–the OIQ created its Student Section and we are present on university campuses at different times of the year.
  • Starting in September, OIQ representatives will participate in career days at many universities. Come meet our representatives at the OIQ’s stand!
  • Watch for the OIQ’s presentations at universities as well. These presentations will take place between October and April and are primarily intended for students who will finish their bachelor's program during the year. All students are welcome whenever the meeting takes place in a public hall, rather than as part of a course.
