Dear Students,

It is a great pleasure to write to you for the first time. I was elected President of the OIQ on August 27 to take over from Robert Sauvé, Eng., FEC, who stepped down from the office in mid-August.

As you know, we are working hard to make the OIQ more efficient and transparent, and this transformation is already benefitting you in several ways!
For example, as a member of the OIQ Student Section, you can see today that we are improving our communications. This revamped newsletter is proof!

Another example of the changes we are making: As future junior engineers, you should know that the OIQ has just conducted an in-depth review of its professional examination. The first junior engineers who took the examination have told us that it is closer to the current reality of the profession.

As you can see, we care about your future in the profession.

It is important for you to actively participate in discussions about the OIQ's future. I hope to have an opportunity to hear your views and concerns soon.

Have an excellent fall term!

Jean-François M. (Jeff) Proulx, Eng., P.Eng., MBA, PMP
