Dear Students,

It is a great pleasure to address you for the first time. OIQ members elected me to the presidency of the OIQ in May and I have been in office since June. I made it very clear when I took office: I intend to continue the transformation that began two years ago to make the OIQ more efficient and more transparent. This transformation is already affecting you! The OIQ’s Student Section has just been made part of the OIQ’s Professional Affairs Department. Why was this change made? To better support you by keeping in constant contact as you make your way along the path from student to full-fledged engineer.

Our communications will be aimed at creating dialogue.

The newsletter you are now reading will play an important role in achieving this. It is receiving a makeover so that each issue will feature a specific theme, more visual content (video and photos), contributions from engineering students, and much more. Are you working on inspiring projects? Use this platform to share your experiences with students across Québec!

We are also coming to your schools and faculties of engineering to meet you. I will personally attend certain activities from time to time.

Engineering students are extremely important to the Board of Directors and to me. We want to ensure that our profession continues to renew itself in order to meet our society’s needs.
