Dear Students,

I have just completed a tour of all schools and faculties of engineering in Québec and over 500 of you participated in these meetings. Thank you for your interest in your future profession! Did you miss the meeting when I came to your campus? You can now read my presentation, which is available on the OIQ’s Web site.  As you will see when you read the presentation, the public trusts the profession once again. For the OIQ, the challenge is now to consolidate this trust by continuing to strengthen our public protection mechanisms and providing more support to members in their practice.

Against this backdrop, the OIQ is now developing a new professional integration program for new graduates. This program is the initiative of the ENG2020 PLAN that will affect you the most directly. As I mentioned at the meetings, the forthcoming changes are still under development. The final terms and conditions may therefore vary. However, I wanted to share the OIQ's general directions with you during the tour. In the coming months, watch for our communications to find out the final terms and conditions that should come into force by the end of the year.

In closing, I would like to mention the assistance of the external vice presidents of your student associations as well as that of the professors who represent the OIQ on your campuses. Their contribution made it a great deal easier to organize this tour and I thank them all sincerely.

I wish you much success in meeting your challenges in the next few weeks! Whether you have to write a final exam or to search for an internship or a summer job, I hope that your results will be in line with your expectations and, above all, your efforts.
